Tip #9 - cleaning air condition & heating vents
When we bought our historic home years ago, there was a lot of dust in the heater vents. Over 50 years of dust in the vents.

Asthma Doc has always told us not to use a swamp cooler when you have asthma. He said it increases the humidity level in the home and often blows contaminants through the wet pads on the swamp coolers.

I'm sure there were some things coming out of the vents while the previous owners were using the furnace, but we wanted a fresh start.
Also, the previous owners didn't have asthma or allergies! We always have to take extra precautions in our homes.

The company we used charged us per vent, so your cost will depend on the size of your house and the number of vents you have.
It seems to have made a difference, I feel like I don't have to dust as often now.

Asthma is really strange, it's the only disease I know of that is affected so much by the environment around us.
So, anything I can do to make it a little safer for breathing-I'm all for it!
Hmm.. aside from using the AC, it is also important to have a clean house so you can invite good insulation. That way, you can also breathe fresh air.

That’s right. With a 50 year old house like yours, it’s best to clean all the vents and heater first before installing an AC unit. Not only will your AC will function more efficiently, but it will also ensure that you and your family will have clean and dust-free air circulating in your home. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
