Did you know asthma can be deadly? 🪦

There are 3,157 Americans who die from asthma each year 🫁

That's an average of 10 people per day 👧👩‍🦳👱‍♀️🧔‍♀️👳‍♀️👴👶👵🧔‍♂️👶

University of Maryland Children's Hospital lists when to take a child to the ER for asthma:

🔷 Albuterol doesn't seem to be working
🔷 Chest tightness or wheezing is severe or getting worse
🔷 Fingernails are turning bluish or grayish
🔷 Can't walk or talk because of struggling to breathe
🔷 Skin is sucking in along the neck or ribs as they breathe
🔷 Flaring nostrils when breathing

My kids were in the hospital numerous times when they were little - and two of those hospital admissions were for the ICU 😭 (This was before asthma biologics were available)

I quickly learned to watch for emergency signs of asthma

Please talk to your doctor and ask them what signs they want you to watch for your child or yourself

An Asthma Action Plan can tell you what to do if you or your child is in the green, yellow, or red zones 🟢🟡🔴
