Cool New Spacer (Valved Holding Chamber) Aero2go

This is the first time I got a sneak peak at a new product, and was able to try it out.

A rep from Monaghan Medical contacted me on my social media accounts for My Life as an Asthma Mom and asked if I wanted to try out a new valved holding chamber for my inhaler, called Aero2go

I don't think I'm that cool or that many people follow me on social media (I'm probably the only person that's not on TikTok!) 🤣

But I was flattered that they trusted me enough to try it.

I've had asthma for 25 years, and sadly all 3 of my kids inherited my asthma.

The youngest two were hospitalized 12 times when they were younger - 2 ICU's.

So we have tried a LOT of inhalers, spacers, and valved holding chambers over the years.

But the Aero2go valved holding chamber is different from anything else I have seen or tried.

What I like about this spacer (valved holding chamber)

A valved holding chamber (VHC) is different from a spacer because it has a one-way valve that allows the device to "hold" the medicine until you inhale it.

I've never seen one like this where the inhaler goes inside the VHC. The smaller shape allows you to easily fit in a pocket, purse, or bag.

Real life experience with the Aero2go

Here's what happened to me yesterday, and how the important the Aero2go was for me.

We were at our favorite lake, and the wind whipped up the sand along the shoreline, so we decided to head for home. Everything was covered in sand - including me!

On our drive home, I started an asthma attack. For me, my throat will get "twitchy", followed by coughing and a tight chest. When I have a really bad asthma attack, I'll lose my voice.

That's my husband's favorite part of the day 😆

I'm glad my husband was driving so I could search for my inhaler and Aero2go in my bag.

The inside of my bag was covered in dirt and sand, but the Aero2go wasn't. Since it's sealed, there's no way for dirt and sand to get in. And - since my albuterol inhaler was safely stored inside, it was protected from the dirt and sand

I was so relieved

I needed 4 puffs of albuterol on the drive home. Then I showered to remove all of the dust and sand

But my lungs were still cranky. Later that night, I needed another 4 puffs.

I could tell it's going to take several days for my lungs to recover. Guess I'll have to prop up and relax on the couch and scroll through TV

If you're looking for a small VHC, this is a great option. I especially love that I can store my inhaler inside the VHC.
